I look at some of this season’s shorter anime series. To be updated later on with impressions of some sequels and shows for kids.

A quick fan art sketch of the Scythian, the main character from “Superbrothers Sword and Sworcery EP.” Anatomy might be a bit weird, but I haven’t drawn anything in a while (and the in-game character art is a little bit weird that way anyway).
Trying to decide if I want to take the time to clean it up more/color it. I might just let it be what it is without worrying too much about it.
Until I get a chance to play Diablo III, I’ve decided to go back to Torchlight which I bought back in September and only played a little bit. I really enjoy it. As with most games, I started off on the default difficulty and I’m finding it a little bit too easy, but that’s fine for the way I play (pop in, play a while, log out). I’m not a huge fan of steampunk, but I like the way the aesthetic is used in the game and I think it serves to differentiate the game from Diablo even though they’re similar in play-style. If I had to compare it visually, I’d say it looks a bit like World of Warcraft (the character models aren’t super detailed but they have a good sense of style).
My only problem is that there aren’t a lot of character classes. There are three types of characters - the “Destroyer” who is a big beefy dude who’s pretty much a barbarian or tank, the “Alchemist” who’s a male mage, and the “Vanquisher” who is a female ranged-weapons specialist and who doesn’t wear a whole lot by default (in fairness, neither does the Destroyer, but bare man chest =/= nearly-bare boobs and legs IMO). I play the Vanquisher, and was so, so happy to find some awesome armor that actually provides practical body coverage.
Oh, and you also get a pet who accompanies you :)
Anyway, it’s a fun game with a sequel coming soon. $14.99 on Steam. Thumbs up.
Spring 2012 - The Dregs *UPDATE* -
“Spring 2012 - The Dregs” has been updated to include commentary about “Queen’s Blade: Rebellion” and “AKB0048.”
the bacteria in Moyashimon are definitely more interesting and more fun to memorize than the monsters in Pokemon.. they’re cuter. and real (with the help of a microscope)
The Japanese L. yoghurti is my favorite, de gozaru.

Polar Bear Cafe - First Impressions
Because sometimes cute animals and light comedy are just what’s needed after a long day devoid of cute animals and light comedy :)
Voiced by Sakurai who is also

I know sakurai also does a LOT of other people, but I just can’t right now.
I find this highly amusing for some reason.
To hell with context!

Sankarea - First Impressions -
Another shounen romance series that attempts to use the zombie genre to distinguish itself from the pack. Some parts are mildly successful but future episodes suggest something more unapologetically average.
Kids on the Slope - First Impressions -
The new noitaminA anime featuring the talents of director Shinichiro Watanabe and composer Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop) lives up to the hype. This jazz-influenced coming-of-age piece is one of the best that this season has to offer.
